The cradle of the Renaissance
A surprising city, in which to get lost in the art, history, fashion and tradition of Tuscany
Anyone intending to visit Tuscany can only pass by Florence: the city of the lily is a treasure chest of artistic treasures and the center of a fervent vitality. In addition to the exceptional artistic heritage, testimony to its centuries-old civilisation, it is possible to enjoy the city by walking at sunset along the enchanting Arno riversides, entering the bohemian alleys of the Oltrarno or getting lost in the narrow streets of San Niccolò, where you walk along the ancient walls it will seem to end up as if by magic in another era.
Discovering Florence means walking in Dante's footsteps and finding yourself in front of his house. Cimabue and Giotto, fathers of Italian painting, lived here in the space of a few centuries; Arnolfo and Andrea Pisano, renovators of architecture and sculpture; Brunelleschi, Donatello and Masaccio, fathers of the Renaissance; and then again Ghiberti and Della Robbia, Filippo Lippi and Beato Angelico, Botticelli and Paolo Uccello, and universal geniuses such as Leonardo and Michelangelo.
